Jake vows ‘to fight’ for Kylie direct line

Jake Cuenca to girlfriend Kylie Versoza: I always remind myself how lucky I am to have you in my life.

Jake Cuenca has been posting sweet messages for his girlfriend, 2016 Miss International Kylie Versoza, on social media every so often.

Last Feb. 7, he posted on his Instagram @juancarloscuenca a sweet birthday message for Kylie. He wrote, “I always remind myself how lucky I am to have you in my life. I’m the lucky one here to have you. I want you to know that you have my loyalty. I’ll always be here to take care of you no matter what. I’ll always be by your side fighting the good fight with you.”

But the one that caught the attention of many netizens was his recent post that read, “Waiting for you to come home.”

It stirred such various speculations as the couple is already living together, that Jake had already popped the question and the two will soon get married.

The Kapamilya actor confirmed that the post was meant for his ladylove and set the record straight that they are not living together.

“Si Kylie, kakasimula pa lang niya sa showbiz. So, I’m gonna let her enjoy it,” began Jake. “Kasi with me, I’ve been doing this (acting career) for almost 19 years so gusto ko mag-enjoy s’ya sa pagiging artista n’ya. I don’t wanna lock her down.”

“In regards to what people have been thinking that we are living together, well, we are neighbors in BGC and we see each other every day. We enjoy each other’s company and I can’t ask for anything more. I moved in to BGC to be closer to her.”

Jake and Kylie first worked together in Ang Panday in 2017 and became co-stars in the TV adaptation of Precious Hearts Romances series titled Los Bastardos aired on ABS-CBN. The two officially confirmed their relationship just last September on Tonight with Boy Abunda (TWBA). According to Jake, he and Kylie started out as friends before becoming an item. It was last Dec. 30, Jake’s 32nd birthday, when they celebrated their first year as a couple in Singapore.

Jake shared that he is close to Kylie’s family as well. “I really appreciate how they accepted me; transparent ako sa kanila and they accepted me as who I am. I don’t have to pretend.”

What he had truly found tough to do as natural and as convincing as can be was his intimate scene with Denise Laurel, her co-star in The Haunted, that already had its final episode last Feb. 9.

Jake recalled that it was a bit difficult for both of them “kasi magkaibigan talaga kami like brother and sister but we just have to be professional. Parehas kaming Peque Gallaga babies so (we) just dived into it to do the scene.”

During her guesting in TWBA, Denise also revealed that their kissing scene was the most difficult she has done in her acting career given that the actor is like a brother to her on- and off-cam. She shared that they were laughing so hard before the shoot. “We just looked at each other and we’re just like, ‘Let’s just do it one take so we don’t have to do it again.’”

Jake also expressed his appreciation to all Kapamilya viewers who supported the show that gave him the opportunity to work again with Shaina Magdayao and director Manny Palo.
