Happily juggling home & career
Drew Arellano, host of AHA! and Biyahe ni Drew, looks forward to continuing his journey as a Kapuso as he renews his commitment to GMA Network in a contract signing held on Oct. 8.

Drew Arellano is living his life to the fullest. Drew juggles work as an award-winning television personality and host, a sought-after brand ambassador and a bemedaled triathlete. I am always proud of him.

On the home front, Drew is a loving husband to Iya Villania and a doting father to two adorable boys, Primo and Leon. He may have traveled great distances in his career but Drew acknowledges that his real source of energy and inspiration is his family. He wants to be the best dad to his sons, not missing out on the significant milestones of their young life.

His amazing gift of gab brought him to places far and wide. It is the same gift of gab that continues to provide him with huge projects until now.

The future looks bright and sunny for Drew as he continues his journey as a Kapuso. He recently renewed his contract with GMA Network. Present during the contract signing were GMA Network chairman and CEO lawyer Felipe Gozon; president and COO Gilberto Duavit Jr.; SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa Flores; First VP for Public Affairs Ianessa Valdellon; senior AVP for Public Affairs Neil Gumban; AVP for Public Affairs Jaileen Jimeno; and VP for Corporate Affairs and Communications Angela Javier Cruz. Biyahe ni Drew program manager Karen Lumbo and AHA! program manager Mildred Ablanque-Irum also attended the contract signing event.

Aside from being an Anak TV Makabata awardee for several years, Drew is also a recipient as Best Travel Show Host in the 2019 YAEHADEMIC Awards, 1st Philippine Tourism Awards, PMPC Star Awards for TV, Alta Media Icon Awards and UPLB’s Gandingan Awards.

Drew started his career in GMA Network’s youth-oriented show Click. He later became a familiar face on TV when he hosted hit shows such as Unang Hirit and Balikbayan (which later had an offshoot program Weekend Getaway) which sealed his place in the hosting department.

These days, Drew shares interesting facts and trivia on almost anything under the sun with AHA!, a GMA Public Affairs’ award-winning infotainment program. AHA! explores the science and technology behind everyday things, experiences and viral activities through the help of reliable experts. It aims to make viewers enjoy learning through entertaining treatments, language and exciting animations.

AHA! has ventured into full-length live animation segments throughout the years. It now regularly produces animation segments after its successful AHA! Animation Originals special episode in 2017. Animation segments include #KuwentongAHAmazing, a full-length animation of Pinoy stories narrated by top Kapuso personalities like Jessica Soho, Bianca Umali and Ken Chan. AHA! gears up for an exciting 2020 when it explores more composite medium such as stop-motion and 3D animations.

Meanwhile, Drew is the ultimate biyahero guide in Biyahe ni Drew. There, he introduces exciting destinations to viewers as he explores islands, jump from the highest cliffs and eat the most exotic dishes. Do you need travel tips and recommendations? Drew has it fully covered. Aside from featuring beautiful destinations in the country, the show takes viewers to various Asian spots such as Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Brunei, Malaysia and Hong Kong. It also explored Africa specifically Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Zambia as well as Israel and Jordan. Biyahe ni Drew has successfully launched the Biya-Hero and Sustaina-Goals campaign.

AHA! and Biyahe ni Drew enjoy immense online presence. AHA’s Facebook page is close to hitting one million “likes” while Biyahe ni Drew has more than one million “likes.”
