MANILA, Philippines — Actor Phillip Salvador on Thursday broke his silence about a lengthy Facebook live video that his ex-partner, Kris Aquino, made to express her dismay over Phillip’s skit with senatorial candidate Bong Go.

During a campaign rally on Thursday, the actor told members of the press in an interview: "She's still the mother of my son. I respect her and I will always respect her for the rest of my life. That is my statement."

Kris and Phillip reportedly began their relationship in the set of their 1994 film “Nandito Ako.” They then called it quits five years later.

Their relationship bore a son, Joshua or Josh, for whom Kris made the live video for after the actress was “deeply hurt” by Salvador and Bong’s skit that included the line “Naloko mo nga si Kris Aquino!”

In her Facebook live video on Wednesday, Kris explained that after Josh saw a video of the skit, the boy asked her, “Mama, niloko ka? Galit ba tayo? Galit ba tayo kay Dada?”

Kris said what angered her is that Josh did nothing wrong to Phillip.

“Ang hindi ko nabanggit sa mga tao 16 years kang walang inabot kahit piso kay Josh. But I’m sure sasabihin ng mga tao, hindi mo naman kailangan, Kris, ang yaman, yaman mo. And that’s true. May kaya ako. May nanay ako, may mga kapatid ako, kumikita ako. Pero sana naisip mo that line – ‘Sana niloko mo si Kris Aquino.’ What does that make of your son? Produkto s’ya ng panloloko?”

Kris is yet to respond to Phillip’s statement.
