MANILA, Philippines — Emerging Filipino band IV of Spades continues to make headlines as they have been nominated at the Best Southeast Asian Act category of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2018.

The band will be competing against artists in the Southeast Asian region, including Afgansyah Reza from Indonesia, Joe Flizzow from Malaysia, Minh Hang from Vietnam, The Sam Willows from Singapore, Slot Machine from Thailand and Twopee Southside from Thailand.

IV of Spades members, Zildjian Benitez, Blaster Silonga and Badjao De Castro, recently released their new single “Bata Dahan-Dahan,” their second single after former vocalist Unique Salonga went solo.

IV of Spades is looking for a back-to-back win for the Philippines after Kapamilya singer-actor James Reid bagged the award last year.

Sarah Geronimo also won in the category last 2014.

On their Instagram account, IV of Spades is encouraging their followers to vote for them online.

The MTV EMAs 2018 will be held in Bilbao, Spain on November 5.

Apart from their retro outfit, IV of Spades is known for their groovy hits and their popular songs “Ilaw Sa Daan” and “Mundo.”
