Stars swoon over returning NBA champ Stephen Curry
MANILA, Philippines — Three-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion and two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) Stephen Curry took Manila by storm as he visited the country for the second time.
Together with Under Armour, the Golden State Warriors guard hosted a three-on-three basketball game at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where he also showcased his basketball skills.
Apart from thousands of fans, showbiz personalities were also present to witness the event, and even took a selfie with the point guard, who revolutionized basketball through his excellent shooting skills.
Kapamilya TV host Gretchen Ho, who hosted the event, posted on her Instagram account her picture with the basketball star.
“Embarrassed and stressed doing hosting & reporting duties for ‘TV Patrol’ at the same time. Pero minsan kailangan mo lang talaga kapalan mukha mo for that ultimate selfie. He took the selfie for me,” she wrote.
Another Kapamilya actress, Kim Chiu, could not hide her excitement after she met Curry unexpectedly. She posted on Instagram that she had no idea that she will be meeting the cager in person, but fate let them meet.
“I really dont have an idea of meeting him today in person, accept defeat na ako but tito @bcloma called me this afternoon saying may ticket siya so since the shoot got cancelled, I resched my asap reh and went straight to MOA!!!!,” she wrote.
“Who would have thought from #thatfeeling #hanggangTshirtnlng will became into reality!!! he is super nice, takes pictures here and there with autograph pa on the side!!! thank you @gretchenho for taking the pictures!!! grabe roller coaster fan girl experience!!!,” she added.
Kapamilya heartthrob Enrique Gil also posted on his Instagram his photo with Curry and captioned the photo, “Yeaa chef,” the cager’s moniker.
Curry was also a part of the opening ceremony of the 81st University Athletic Association of the Philippines last September 8.
