Sarah Geronimo, James Reid on working together in ‘Miss Granny’

MANILA, Philippines — “Popstar Royalty” Sarah Geronimo had a simple birthday wish for herself on her 30th birthday.
While promoting her new movie “Miss Granny” with Kapamilya actor James Reid on “ASAP Chillout,” Sarah said her birthday wishes are wisdom and passion.
"Wish for myself? Wisdom at saka passion. Patuloy ang passion in what I do, magpatuloy para maka-inspire at makapag-touch ng buhay ng ibang tao," she said.
Since Sarah and James have been performing onstage in musical numbers on “ASAP” and concerts, they praised each other’s performance in their first movie together.
"Si James, nakakatrabaho ko lang as a performer. Nagkaka-duet kami sa 'ASAP,' sa concerts. Refreshing 'yung makita siya as an actor. As always si James as a singer, as a performer, very natural, effortless. Ganoon din siya as an actor,” Sarah said.
For his part, James said of Sarah: "It's truly an honor. I always love performing with you on 'ASAP' and concerts but she's really perfect for this role.”
Coming in cinemas on August 22, “Miss Granny” is a local adaptation of a South Korean film with the same title.
“I played the role of an old woman, played by Tita Nova Villa na naging bata uli. Bumalik siya in her 20’s. Frustrated singer kasi ako kaya I was given a chance to pursue my dreams. Storya ito ng pagmamahal ng isang ina, ‘yung fearless, intense na pagmamahal ng ina sa kanyang anak na talagang isasakripisyo lahat kahit sariling kaligayahan para sa anak,” Sarah said of her role.
