Catriona Gray to Angela Ponce: Excited to meet her
MANILA, Philippines — Instead of feeling pressured, Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray is even excited to meet Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce, the first transgender woman who will enter the Miss Universe competition.
“If the organization or Miss Universe is open to it, then I too as a delegate is open to it because it really is the decision of the organization itself,” Catriona told Philstar.com in an interview following her launch of Dairy Queen's new Blizzard flavors.
“I’m very open-minded to it. It gives us the opportunity to learn more about the LGBT community, the challenges and issues that they’re facing,” she said on Miss Universe’s stand to open the pageant to transwomen like Ponce.
