MANILA, Philippines — After a successful open-heart surgery recently, Kapamilya singer Gary Valenciano turned to Twitter to update the public on his condition.

The veteran singer said in his post: "Thank you to all who’ve prayed for me through this incredible challenge my family and I have had to face. I love you."

He also included the Bible verse, "And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart."

In a video he posted on Twitter, Gary V said he is now okay and is getting better day by day.

"Hi everyone. I'm okay. I'm here at the hospital pa rin. I'm recuperating. I did a major bypass but I'm getting better day by day and one of these days, babalik rin ako sa 'ASAP,' babalik rin ako sa 'Your Face Sounds Familiar' and 'Tawag ng Tanghalan'," he declared.

"Mr. Pure Energy," however, said he will still take a break once in a while to ensure that he is in good condition.

"Minsan minsan magaabsent pa rin ako just to make sure I'm in good shape. But the doctors are very satisfied on how it all turned out. My heart is actually in very good condition. Nandun lang sa isang part na medyo delikado talaga. But I'm here, I'm okay."

He thanked his family, friends and fans for their unwavering support through these trying times.

"I love you all and I'm thankful that God gave me so many people that have shared their love on me. See you soon, okay. Don't worry na. I'll be okay. Pure energy uli. God bless."
