MANILA, Philippines — British singer Harry Styles did his homework before going on stage in Manila.

The former One Direction member's Filipino fans freaked out as he greeted the audience in Filipino.

"Mabuhay Manila!" Harry said at the start of his set at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Harry was in the country for the Manila leg of his self-titled world tour.

"Magandang gabi, Pilipinas. My name is Harry Styles," he said.

Harry's "good evening" greeting in the Filipino language was one of the seven topics related to his Manila show that trended on Twitter Tuesday night.

This is his second time in Manila since 2015, where he and his bandmates Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson last performed in the Philippines as part of the "On the Road Again Tour."
