EXO's Manila show: 6 things to look forward to

MANILA, Philippines — K-pop group EXO will be back in town to show their Filipino fans their biggest concert tour yet.

EXO, who won the Best Concert Award last year at Edaily Culture Awards for their successful concert tour last year, will showcase their performances as well as all-out production during the Manila leg of "EXO Planet # 4 – The ElyXiOn" on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The group’s eight members (Suho, Xiumin, Chen, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun) will be present in their Manila show. Unfortunately, Chinese member Lay would be unable to participate due to his other commitments, as earlier announced.

With only a day before the big night, here are the things that you should expect from the show:

Diverse setlist

While classics such as “MAMA,” “Wolf” and “Overdose” will be dearly missed, the "ElyXiOn" setlist is still a good combination of the old and the new. The boys will perform almost all songs from "The War" and the repackaged "Power of Music" — the dark and sexy “The Eve,” the tropical-themed “KoKoBop” and their EDM hit “Power.”

Bops such as “Growl,” which propelled them to K-pop royalty status, will be also staged, along with equally impressive B-side tracks.

Captivating solos and duos

EXO took a turn from their usual setlist style by giving all members the opportunities to showcase their individual talents and growth as artists.

Kai and Sehun will show off their killer moves with their solos “I See You” and “Go,” respectively. Baekhyun and Xiumin will prove that they are also worthy to be called as EXO’s main dancers as they face off in a dance battle.

Suho will make the audience drool over his “Playboy” performance, while Chen’s powerful vocals will be highlighted in “Heaven” solo.

D.O. will sing the English rendition of the ballad “For Life.” He will be accompanied by Chanyeol who will play the piano and who will also perform his self-written rap, “Hands.”

Outfits fit for kings

Their outfits on "ElyXiOn" show that they have really come a long way since their debut in terms of style.

The regal white suits scream their maturity and their status as one of the most sought-after groups in recent years. The concert outfits will also bring out the individual styles of EXO members and reflect their personalities.

Charming fan service

Some people often criticize EXO for their lack of online presence, but the members do not have to post selfies every day or do V Live regularly to show their appreciation for their fans.

Instead, EXO show their sincere affection toward the EXO-Ls through real-life fan service. The ElyXiOn show will also be filled with exchanges of banters among the boys.

Ocean of lights

EXO-Ls are known for turning award shows and concert venues into an ocean of bright lights. MOA Arena will illuminate as fans wave their light sticks or glow sticks to the tune of EXO’s music.

Filipino EXO-Ls

Filipino EXO-Ls are known as one of the most passionate in the fandom. Filipino EXO-Ls do not only follow the fan chants and sing with the artists; they stomp their feet until the whole venue is shaking. During EXO's show last year, the fans’ fervor literally shook the Araneta Coliseum, much to the surprise of the boys.

Despite their differences, fans will unite as one to give EXO a night that they will always remember.
