Julia Barretto breaks silence on alleged split with Joshua Garcia
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto finally came out to speak about her alleged breakup with rumored boyfriend Joshua Garcia. The temporary split was reportedly caused by his private message to a beauty queen and former “It’s Showtime” contestant.
In last night’s episode of “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” Julia said she and Joshua are now okay but are still in the process of moving on from what happened to them.
“Up to this day, Tito Boy, I’m still trying to gain my trust and that’s the truth. He’s still trying to gain my trust, but we’re OK. Accept, forgive and move on. Life goes on,” the teen star said.
Joshua, in the same interview, divulged that they did not talk for a couple of days while he was in Bali, while her onscreen partner was in Siargao. Julia said it was part of their healing process.
“It’s a process. When I’m not ready to speak about it, I just want the person to know that I’m aware of what’s happening. I’m aware of what you did. That’s my time to think, that’s my time to reflect, that’s my time to pray,” Julia told Abunda.
Julia admitted that she does not want their relationship to turn into waste, so she made it clear to Joshua what she felt and gave her rumored boyfriend a chance to defend himself.
“With this guy, we have respect to each other, there is love and we built something beautiful. So it wasn’t something na was easily na madali kong sasabihin na ‘Tama na, I don’t wanna talk. I don’t want you anymore.’ It’s not like that. It’s more like ‘This is what you did, I know what you did, this is how I felt, let me hear your side.’ I made it clear. I know my worth, I know my value, things I can tolerate and what I can’t tolerate. I made it clear to him,” the young Barretto stressed.
