[Embargo] GDA will be held in Korea, not Manila

All Access Production, in a statement on Monday, said that it is cancelling its earlier announced Golden Disc Awards in Manila. MANILA, Philippines — Golden Disc Awards, the highly anticipated Korean awards show, will happen in Seoul, South Korea, not in Manila as earlier announced by All Access Production.

AAP in a statement on Monday said that it is canceling its earlier announced event due to the "HM Entertainment's failure to comply with their responsibility to the owner of the original Golden Disc Awards Ceremony, JTBC Plus."

"Local Production Teams - LUMOS, E&M together with All Access Production have tried to solve issues revolving the event but all organizing partners have agreed to move the event back to Korea for a more successful show," AAP added.

Ticket selling for the awards night started on the morning of November 26 but the secretariat of the GDA was quick to clarify that the selling is not in any way related to the awards show.

The statement was posted on Twitter by South Korean cable network JTBC, which would be airing the prestigious awards show, after local event producer AAP started its pre-selling of tickets that range from P2,500 for General Admission to P25,000 for the Golden Ticket, excluding ticket charges.

In the post, the GDA secretariat clarified that the "location for the 32nd Golden Disc Awards has not been confirmed yet."

AAP, on the same day, said that it would be "clarifying this misunderstanding and sort matters with JTBC."

Golden Wave in PH?

AAP and HM Entertainment earlier said fans could expect up to 24 to 28 international artists to grace the two-day awards show.

Beginning in 1986, GDA has been dubbed as the "Korean Grammy Awards."

The AAP has yet to announce details on ticket refund.

The production team, however, said that it is still in "continuous discussion" to stage the Golden Wave, a "high-level celebration of the GDA winning artists."

AAP said that they are looking into holding the Golden Wave in the first half of 2018 "in exchange of the fans who supported it."
