The country’s most watched TV program, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, marked its first anniversary with a grand concert recently at the Araneta Coliseum to thank its loyal viewers for making the show a phenomenal success.

Titled FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano: Isang Pamilya Tayo the Anniversary Concert, the event served huge surprises from the country’s hottest love teams, leading men and popular stars.

Fans welcomed the whole cast of the series led by Coco Martin, who celebrated his birthday that night. The celebration continued with Coco giving a heartfelt tribute to Fernando Poe Jr. in his rendition of the OPM classic Doon Lang.

After his performance, the lead star of the series shared some touching words about “Da King.”

“Aside from Jose Rizal and other national heroes, I consider FPJ one of my idols. I hope the good memories he left with us continue to stick in our hearts, especially the youth’s,” said Coco.

Music also took center stage as Ogie Alcasid, Kyla, Ayen Munji-Laurel and Vina Morales took the crowd on a trip down memory lane as they sang the theme songs of Coco’s ABS-CBN teleseryes.

Gary Valenciano sang Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak, the official soundtrack of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

The child stars of the action series also touched the hearts of everyone with their heartfelt song number with Coco.

Meanwhile, viewers danced and grooved with Maja Salvador, Yassi Pressman and Bela Padilla firing up the Araneta stage with their dance performances.

The grand dance showdown between “Idol ng Masa” Coco and “Don Romantiko” Vhong Navarro sent the audience into a frenzy as they showcased their sexy dance moves and sang novelty song Totoy Bibo.

FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano male cast, led by John Prats and Arjo Atayde, also surprised the crowd with a sizzling showdown with It’s Showtime!’s all-male group Hashtags.

Nadine Lustre and James Reid bringing kilig to viewers

The night was also filled with kilig as Kapamilya loveteams James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine) together with JC Santos, Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador (ElNella) and McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson (McLisse) serenaded the crowd with song numbers.

The kilig fest continued as the stars of the newest Star Cinema offering The Third Party Angel Locsin, Zanjoe Marudo and Sam Milby spread love.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya leading men Richard Yap, Paulo Avelino, Albert Martinez and Cesar Montano charmed the ladies when they performed classic love songs.

It’s Showtime! host Vice Ganda and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s own McNeal “Awra” Briguela proved that they are both Unkabogable stars in their stand-up comedy act that brought laughter to the audience.

As the show ended, the cast members of the top-rating series sent their words of love for the fans for their unwavering support and gave an early Christmas treat to everyone.

Viewers at home were also able to join the festivities as the thanksgiving concert was also shown on Sky Cable and TVplus.

Since it started airing on television in September 2015, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has ruled the ratings game as the country’s most watched program. It was recently commended by the Congress for its efforts in promoting crime awareness and prevention, as well as family values, among its viewers.
