Kantar bares most-watched TV programs in Philippines

Some of the top-rating shows of ABS-CBN.

MANILA, Philippines — Kantar Media revealed that ABS-CBN is the network of choice of Filipino households for the month of July.

With an average national audience of 47 percent, ABS-CBN surpassed the viewers of other big networks such as GMA with 32 percent and TV 5 with 7 percent, data from the TV audience measurement provider showed.

Kantar Media used a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes, representing 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

Half of the total Philippine households tuned in to ABS-CBN’s primetime block, hitting a whopping national audience share of 50 percent, a solid 20-point lead over GMA’s 30 percent.

The Lopez-run network also ruled all time blocks nationwide for the month of July, including the morning block from 6 a.m. to 12 noon with 42 percent, while GMA Network got a 33-percent share.

The noontime block of 12 noon to 3 p.m. was led by ABS-CBN with 45 percent against GMA's 33 percent. It likewise earned a bigger share of the afternoon block from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.with 47 percent, while GMA got 32 percent.
