Derek Ramsay a ‘happy’ Kapatid
MANILA, Philippines – Derek Ramsay is happy with his home network, TV5.
This despite being focused with hosting projects.
Two of his shows with the network are the Sunday noontime variety show “Happy Truck Happinas” and the upcoming reality challenge show “Tough & Rough.”
“I’m very blessed that I was chosen by TV5 to do this project. I’m very happy to be part of this family,” he said in an interview on Wednesday.
He even revealed that he’s looking forward about the plans of making another book of his fantasy show “Kidlat,” which he did in 2013.
He added that he’s happy to give new talents a chance to star in their own show and showcase their talents.
“It’s great that we’re getting more talent, we need that,” he explained. "We can’t rely on one person to help this network develop. We need more talent.”
“We’re all here to help the network, not just me,” he added.
The Kapatid talent clarified the reason behind the reformatting of the variety show “Happy Truck Happinas.”
“We reformatted kasi we saw the potential in the show,” said Derek about the reformatting of TV5’s noontime variety show.
“Maybe that’s why they wanted to invest more money and time to make the show better. Kung ang network hindi nakikita ang potential ng show, hindi ma-reformat ito. They’ll just scrap it,” he added.
The reformatted “Happy Truck Happinas” will air on March 6, 11 a.m. on TV5.
Aside from his TV projects, Derek is also busy doing films. One is a movie with Shaina Magdayao under Quantum Films, and another is with Anne Curtis. He’s also under talks with Viva and Star Cinema for two other separate movies.
