Anna & Adam open new school of music

Anyone who has met Anna Fegi-Brown for the first time will immediately conclude that she must be living a multicolored life.

Cebu-based Anna always had this dream of making it big as a singer. It was an ambitious plan but one she refused to let go of. In Cebu, she had her supporters like Cebu philanthropist Amparito Lhuillier and the great Ryan Cayabyab who discovered her performing in Cebu. After this, Anna accepted a contract in Manila and soon enough, she had the world as her audience.

With her husband Adam Brown, Anna invited us to meet and stay with her parents for the opening of the school she and Adam have just put up. Her parents live in Barangay Lutopan, Toledo, Cebu. This is their real home where Gaudencio and Soccoro Fegi live. Soccoro was a religion teacher at De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial School, and Gaudencio was the school audio-visual technician.

Friends who joined the opening of ceremonies included Monique de los Santos, Eva de los Santos, and Veronica Towers. There were also Vanessa Grace Saw Montenegro and Jude Gitomondoc.

Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston were two earliest influences on Anna who was only 16 when she left for Manila for rehearsals to join the award-winning Smokey Mountain band.

After Smokey, she joined musical theater and the Japan tour of the musical Hair. Anna soon joined ABS-CBN during which time we managed her in 2000. She performed the song Larawan composed by Dodjie Simon which won the People’s Choice Award.

She then recorded Himig Handog after which she signed up with Sony BMG, then joined ASAP for five years, worked for Atlantis Productions performing Jesus Christ Superstar in Manila. Then, Anna joined Hong Kong Disneyland for three contracts from 2006 to 2007, then joined the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines in 2008.

Anna met Adam  while performing on board a cruise ship where she was singer and he was the drummer and musical director. They soon got married which pleased family and friends because Anna now had someone to share her blessings, as well as her mistakes, with.

With all these experiences, they accepted a partnership offer from one of the most successful companies in Cebu. This didn’t work out and in the end Anna found herself filing a case in court (still ongoing) against her partner.

With this unhappy experience, Anna and Adam decided to throw out this partnership idea and do it on their own. The couple invited us to the inauguration of the Brown Academy of Music, Inc. and we hope this time around, they have made a better decision.
