MANILA, Philippines – Julian Barretto can relate to her role as Trixie in her upcoming ABS-CBN TV series “And I Love You So.”

In "And I Love You So," she portrays the role of a daughter left by her mother (Angel Aquino) and is raised by her father (Tonton Gutierrez). Since her mother left, Trixie tries to prove herself to her dad, who constantly ignores her. She then crosses paths with Joanna (Miles Ocampo), who seem to be loved by all. Their lives intertwine when his father marries Joanna’s mother (Dimple’s Romana).

“I love my role kasi gusto ko ‘yong may pinangagalingan siya,” she said during the press conference of the show on Tuesday. “Ang pagiging kontra bida ko dito hindi lang dahil gusto niyang maging masama, mayro’n siyang pinanggagalingan.”

Julia said she can relate to her role who is often “misunderstood” by the people around her.

“Si Trixie at si Julia, they’re both misunderstood, hindi nila maintindihan bakit siya gano’n, hindi nila maintindihan bakit gano’n si Trixie. Same with me, they don’t understand why I’m the way I am now,” she explained.

Julia is the talk of the town recently because of the different issues thrown at her—like her decision to drop the last name of her father Dennis Padilla and her being romantically linked to James Reid.

“Ang pareho rin sa amin is kapag may problema we always stand strong and we stick to what we believe in and we fight for it kapag alam naming nasa tama kami,” she said. “Napaka-strong niya, pero may mga times na bumibigay rin kapag alam niyang enough is enough.”
