MANILA, Philippines - Vice Ganda denied that there is competition between him and Alex Gonzaga.

There have been reports saying that Vice will have a concert this year because of Alex's upcoming concert "AG from the East: The Unexpected Concert."

Kami po ay matalik na magkaibigan," he said on Wednesday, at the presscon of his concert "Vice Gandang Ganda sa Sarili."

Vice said that somehow there's pressure on his part to show his fans something new for his upcoming concert that will happen on May 22 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

So he aims to do a lot of first time performances in his concert, which he marks with the position of the stage.

It took a year before Vice had another concert here in the Philippines. Some of the reasons, he said, are the series of concerts he did abroad and the films he worked on. He denied that it has something to do with his controversial concert in 2013, where he was criticized for name-dropping Kapuso news anchor Jessica Soho in one of his jokes.

Despite the criticisms that he went through that year,  Vice said his fans could still expect a laughter-filled concert.

Vice, however, didn't deny that he learned a lot from what happened after his concert in 2013.
