Aicelle reintroduced in Class A

(The Philippine Star) - March 12, 2015 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines - Aicelle Santos (photo) has been making waves as a musical theater actress, top-billing landmark musical Katy and the hottest local production in years Rak of Aegis. However, in her first solo concert Class A, held last Feb. 25 at the PETA Theater, she proved that she is indeed one of the country’s most versatile vocalists.

Class A highlighted her impressive vocal range, while re-telling her one-decade-journey as a showbiz personality.

The concert opened on a high note with Aicelle performing a mash-up of the classic Finally and Bruno Mars’ Treasure.

She then proceeded to share anecdotes about her life as she sang her favorite childhood songs — Disney’s Reflection and Part of Your World.

Aicelle also paid tribute to her “gigging” days by performing a string of favorite acoustic bar tunes and her contest pieces during her stint in Pinoy Pop Superstar, where she emerged grand winner.

She also exhibited her soulful skills as she belted out Kapangyarihan ng Pag-Ibig, her newest single under Ivory Records.

As expected, her renditions of songs from Rak of Aegis and Katy were greeted with thunderous applause.

Aside from Aicelle’s vocal power, Class A also proved how she is loved and respected by some of the best singers in the country — Regine Velasquez, Kyla and Celeste Legaspi. The guests performed powerful duets with Aicelle, which earned ear-deafening applause and standing ovations.

Another treat during Class A was Gian Magdangal’s participation in the show. They performed a romantic duet of I’ll Never Go.

Class A was successful in reintroducing Aicelle as a stage performer, and a good sign of better things for this powerful vocalist. Class A was produced by PETA, GMA 7 Artist Center and Stages Production Specialists, Inc.
