MANILA, Philippines - Even the likes of Kris Aquino fell victim to the dreaded holiday heavy traffic as she joins the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars on Tuesday.
The parade, which kickstarts the MMFF, began at the Bradco Ave. in Paranaque City and ended at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila City.
Kris, who stars in “Feng Shui 2“ shared in her Instagram account that she and her son Bimby Aquino-Yap failed to ride their respective movie floats at the start of the parade due to heavy traffic.
“Hindi gumagalaw EDSA headed to MOA. Should Bimb & I walk na to our floats?” Kris posted.
She added: “My poor Bimb, naiyak na w/ tears kasi late daw sya sa parade & he doesn't want to disappoint Tito @praybeytbenjamin & tita @cathygonzaga.”

They were able to join the parade midway its trek to Manila.
But the other MMFF actors led their star power to the annual event, which aims to promote the two-week movie fest.

Vice Ganda headlines the float of “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” with Tom Rodriguez and Alex Gonzaga. The comedian also joined the parade midway as he reportedly did an interview with President Benigno Aquino III at the Malacanang before the event.
Meanwhile, the cast of “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo,” headed by Robin Padilla and Daniel Padilla, was in full force for the parade.
“This is how an actor should appreciate and care for his fans.I asked the float to stop and told Daniel about the girl who was running after our float and crying for his handshake,in a split of a second he rushed down and gave the young lady the handshake, a bottle of water and his sweet words of thanks and concern. Mabuhay ang kabataang Mulat sa katotohanan,” Robin posted on his Instagram account.
Vic Sotto led the “My Big Bossing” float, minus co-star Marian Rivera (who is set to get married next week). But Marian‘s soon-to-be husband Dingdong Dantes of Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2” joined the parade with co-stars Isabelle Daza and Abra.

Derek Ramsay of “English Only, Please” and “Shake, Rattle and Roll XV” hunks Matteo Guidicelli, John Spainhour and Daniel Matsunaga were also at the event.
