Rayver & Kylie: Romance is in the air

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Romance was in the air the moment Kylie Padilla and Rayver Cruz reported to the set of Regal Entertainment’s suspense-thriller, Dilim, for their first shooting day under director Jose Javier Reyes.

The new screen pair’s rapport, chemistry and fondness for each other filled the set with so much sweetness that production staff and crew wouldn’t help but notice the budding romance between them.

“Nagkaroon ako ng bagong kaibigan kay Rayver. Dumating siya sa puntong unti-unti na akong naka-move on sa nakaraang relasyon. But I don’t want to jump too soon. Ayokong pangunahan ang lahat. Pero ngayon lang uli ako naging inspired sa trabaho,” Kylie said of her new leading man.

For his part, Rayver is very vocal about his admiration for Kylie.

“More than her beauty, yung magandang ugali ni Kylie ang nagustuhan ko. Cowboy, makulit pero seryoso sa trabaho,” he said.

If there’s one person who’s so thrilled about Rayver and Kylie’s pairing in the movie, it must be Mother Lily Monteverde.

“I am honored that Robin Padilla trusted me for having her daughter, Kylie, to be with Regal. Eh, si Rayver, Regal baby yan at naguguwapuhan ako sa kanya talaga. So, I will be very happy in case magkatuluyan sila ni Kylie,” the Regal Matriarch said.

Dilim casts Kylie as Maritess, a provincial lass who moves to study in the city. She meets Damian, the caretaker of a dormitory in the university belt where she chooses to stay in while in Manila.

Alone with no fellow boarders around, Maritess experiences odd things she’s never experienced while in the dorm.

While Damian is on vacation, a Nursing student, Mia (Ella Cruz), suddenly joins Maritess in the dorm. Mia is so mysterious that she starts to scare Maritess out of her wits.

This goes on for days until Maritess begins to try to figure out Mia’s connection to the nightmares she’s been having.

Maritess finds the answer she needs through another Nursing student, Aya, who tells her about Mia’s sudden disappearance five years ago.

With the help of Emerson (Rayver), a part-time student/employee at a neighboring Internet shop, they uncover the secret behind Mia and Aya’s disappearance unaware that their discovery would put their lives in danger.

Direk Joey once again puts his personal touch in handling horror movies in the suspense-thriller Dilim. One of his more memorable horror/suspense-thriller projects is Malikmata.

It is a dream come true for the director to shoot a film within the university belt area.

So, brace yourselves for another gripping, spine-tingling theater experience from Regal Entertainment, touted as The Real Home of Horror Movies in local horror flick history.

Discover the mystery surrounding the movie that brought Rayver and Kylie closer as it hits the big screen on Oct. 22.
