Miss World Phl franchise in the East Coast

MANILA, Philippines - With its eyes firmly set on the pro- motion of Filipino-American talents in the East Coast, newly-established Synergy Production and Marketing Inc., spearheaded by husband and wife team of Ronald and Grace La- baguis, is bent on launching the first- ever Miss World Philippines franchise in the East Coast by way of the 2014 Miss Philippines Quest USA pageant on July 12 at Symphony Space, where the company also held its recently- concluded concert production of An Evening of Original Philippine Music with Cecile Azarcon, Lorrie Ilustre and Fil-Am artists in New York and New Jersey.

“We’re truly grateful to Fil-Am organizations, colleagues, friends and family members who came out to support Synergy Production’s tribute concert to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and legendary Filipino songwriter Cecile Azarcon held last month,” says Grace, who also serves as marketing consultant for GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV, interna- tional channels of GMA Network, Inc. based in the Philippines. “With the outpouring love and

support that we got, we now feel more inspired to do our best at promoting deserving Fil-Am tal- ents,” she adds, “Without missing a beat, and with the blessing of Cory Quirino, the franchise owner of Miss World Philippines, our search for the East Coast’s official representative to the prestigious Miss World pag- eant — through our very own Miss Philippines Quest USA — is our next platform,” she adds.

In a statement, Cory shares her enthusiasm for collaborating with Synergy Production, “Because of the success of Megan Young, Miss World 2013, we are encouraged to widen our search in order to give every eligible Filipina a chance to make her beauty queen dreams come true. We are confident that our partnership with Synergy Production will lead to a deserving winner who will ably represent the Filipino community in the US.”

Miss World is a highly-reputable international beauty pageant, which originate in the United Kingdom in 1951. Its Beauty with a Purpose campaign, in particular, has raised hundreds of millions of pounds,which have been donated to various organizations in aid of disadvantaged children across the globe.

Apparently, Fil-Ams in the New York Tri-State area have recently been reacquainted with Miss World’s charity projects through the shining example set by its reigning Filipina Miss World Megan Young, who glo- betrotted London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Jakarta in less than two weeks to raise funds for the victims of Supertyphoon Hai- yan (Yolanda) in central Philippines, whom she personally visited in No- vember 2013.

Synergy Production, together with Izzajaye Dungca of One10 Collec- tion and Mabel Sigmon of MS Event Solutions, will conduct screenings of prospective Miss Philippines Quest USA pageant contestants on May 17 and24,1to6p.m.,at71West23rd St., Suite 1628, New York, NY. Single Filipinas aged 17 to 24, 5’6” or taller may apply.

Miss Philippines Quest USA win- ner will travel to the Philippines and compete for the 2014 Miss World Philippines title.
