Blanca Gomez as Japanese lady

REMEMBER WHEN? - Danny Dolor - The Philippine Star

Blanca Gomez, one of Sampaguita’s Stars ’66, plays a Japanese lady in Sayonara, My Darling, an entry to the 1968 Manila Film Festival, the forerunner of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Shot in Japan during the cherry blossoms season, Sayonara, My Darling also starred Rosemarie Sonora and Pepito Rodriguez (both also of Stars ’66), Ricky Belmonte, Luiz Gonzales and Luz Valdez.

Blanca, when her Stars 66 days were over, tackled drama roles, especially on television.

In the late ’70s, Blanca migrated to the US with her family.

Daisy Romualdez, who also started her career at Sampaguita, is her eldest sister.— RKC
