Nonoy-Bishop show a ‘milestone’ in Gensan

MANILA, Philippines - “Pagsikat ng araw, may dalang liwanag, sa aking pangarap, haharapin natin.”

These are the lines originally performed by Tillie Moreno and Ray-An Fuentes that touched and  brought the crowd to tears when it was sung by the country’s top balladeer Nonoy Zuñiga in a duet with the rising star Anna Melissa last Sunday, at Lagao Gym in the Tuna’s capital down south.

With Anna and Nonoy’s rendition of the song, it implies hope for every life’s struggle and inspires one  to strive for a better tomorrow, which may have had  an impact on those who witnessed the concert during that time.

The said one-night concert was considered a milestone, since General Santos never hosted a Philippine tour for an international artist in the last few months.

Meanwhile, the internationally-acclaimed Stephen Bishop brought the audience members to their feet as he performed his all-time classics, Separate Lives, On and On, Something New In My Life and It Might Be You which was his finale song that earned a standing ovation from the audience.

“Gensan may have been the best show while I’m here in the Philippines for this tour,” said Bishop, praising the audience for singing every lyric of his songs.

“Nonoy was amazing. I have only seen him performing tonight. I got carried away of his performance,” said one of the  audience members.

Some notable personalities were seen in the concert including Mayor Ronnel Rivera of General Santos and his family.
