Missing You premieres tonight

MANILA, Philippines - Asia’s most popular artists Park Yoo-Chun and Yoon Eun-Hye team up for the very first time for as they play long-lost sweethearts in the Filipino-dubbed version of the hit Korean drama of 2012, Missing You, premiering tonight after Apoy Sa Dagat on ABS-CBN.

Yoo-Chun, who captivated the hearts of Filipinos as Lee Sun-Joon in Secret Love: Sungkyunkwan Scandal and as Prince Lee Gak in the recently-concluded Rooftop Prince, takes on his most dramatic role to date as Detective Julius Han in the melodrama that earned him the Excellent Actor in a Mini-Series recognition during the 2012 MBC Drama Awards. He is among the few Korean actors who did back-to-back series in a year and was able to do projects in three different Korean TV networks namely KBS, SBS and MBC.

Eun-Hye, on the other, finally returns on Philippine television since she last appeared in Princess Hours as Janelle and My Fair Lady as Hannah. A top young actress and fashion icon in Korea, Eun-Hye recently won the Hallyu Star of the Year award from the 2012 MBC Drama Awards for her portrayal as Joy Lee in Missing You. She was also voted as one of the most bankable stars in Korea and also one of the highest-paid Korean actresses, which is quite an achievement for Eun-Hye considering she is not yet 30 years old.

The airing of Missing You, starring the two Korean superstars, is definitely a summer treat to Koreanovela fans. It tells the compelling story of a man longing to be reunited with his one true love and his undying faith that one day, she will return to him.

It started way back when they were still young and experiencing love for the first time. Julius and Joy are both happy in each other’s arms until one day, Julius is abducted by armed men. Joy, who witnesses the kidnapping, attempts to help Julius and ends up getting abducted as well.

Julius manages to escape and runs away to call for help. But Joy, upon seeing him leave, thinks he has chosen to save his own life and abandoned her.

When Julius returns for her, Joy is nowhere to be found and authorities said she is already dead. Little does Julius know that someone helped Joy escape from the kidnappers.

Years later, Julius is a homicide detective and still hasn’t given up on finding Joy.

Joy, on the other hand, returns to Korea as Zoe, a fashion designer with Harry (Yoo Seung-Ho), the young man who saved her life.

As the two cross paths once more, feelings in the past are awakened. Julius can feel it in his heart that Zoe is the woman he loved way back, but Joy intentionally keeps the truth from him to seek revenge for abandoning her during that tragic moment.

How far can Julius go just to prove that Zoe and Joy are the same person? What will happen when Joy finds out the truth on why Julius ran away when they were kidnapped? Will they give their love a second chance?
