What did they say again?

Oh yes: You can take a boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of a boy.

Five years after he emerged from Big Brother’s house, the winner of the PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) Teen Edition Plus, Ejay Falcon has learned how to go with the city-life flow while at the same time retaining his endearing promdi nature.

When he goes home to Bacawan (his home barrio in Pola town, Mindoro), Ejay touches base with old friends including those at the pier where he used to work as copra kargador like his father (actually, foster father) to help augment the family’s meager income. His hometown best friend is now his personal assistant.

“Nadagdagan ang confidence ko,” admitted Ejay who has yet to meet his biological father, a Frenchman. And his finances have considerably improved. “I am sending my siblings to school,” two in college, one in high school and one in elementary. What he misses is buying bargain items in the tiangge.

Thanks to workshops his acting has improved. Introduced in the Kapamilya soap Katorse (with Xian Lim, Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales), Ejay did a few more (Momay, Tanging Yaman, Guns & Roses, etc.), plus two movies (Fr. Jejemon, Dolphy’s last starrer; and My Pledge of Love with Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez). His biggest break is Dugong Buhay, which premieres this afternoon on ABS-CBN (and worldwide on The Filipino Channel, April 9 in Australia, Guam and New Zealand), the remake of the Carlo J. Caparas komiks serial filmed by Viva Films with Ramon Revilla Sr. and Bong in 1984, now with Toto Natividad directing. Ejay plays the son (Bong’s role) and Nonie Buencamino the father (Ramon Sr.’s role).

“I trained in martial arts for it,” said Ejay. “Nag-workshop din kami.”

A Scorpion (Nov. 21, 1989), Ejay is a six-footer; weighs 170 lbs.; and wears medium-size shirt and briefs and size-12 shoes.

What kind of diet do you follow?

“These days, mostly camote diet, no rice. Salads, vegetables and fish. Nilagang camote or saba for breakfast, salads and fish for lunch, and almost the same, with fruits, for dinner. Dyan lang umiikot ang diet ko. Idagdag mo na ang Century Tuna.”

No cheat day?

“None.”

Favorite veggies?

“All kinds.”

Favorite fruit?

“Mangosteen.”

How much water do you take per day?

“More than eight glasses. I also take Coke Zero.”

What vitamins do you take?

“Centrum.”

How often do you work out?

“Three times a week in the gym, two hours every time. I also do boxing. I play basketball, tennis and water sport.”

What part of your body needs improvement?

“My traps muscles.”

What part is most vulnerable?

“Lower back. That’s another part that I have to work on.”

What part is your favorite?

“My shoulders.”

And what part of a girl’s body do you notice first?

“Her eyes.”

What else in a girl turns you on?

“’Yung maganda ang ugali at magaling kumanta.”

And what turns you off?

“’Yung matapobre.”

How much sleep do you get per night?

“When I’m busy taping, five hours at most. Otherwise, as much as 10 hours.”

Favorite sleepwear?

“Boxers.”

Never in the nude?

“Never!”

How many pillows do you sleep with?

“Sobrang dami, about 10. Gusto ko natatabunan ako ng pillows.”

Do you snore?

“Only when I’m super-pagod.”

Do you talk in your sleep?

“Mabuti na lang hindi!”

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

“Wash my face.”

First thing that you do upon waking up?

“Brush my teeth.”

How do you cope with stress?

“Full-body massage. Or I jog. I listen to love songs. Or watch action movies.”

Favorite hideaway?

“My hometown in Mindoro.”

How’s your love life?

“No girlfriend for four years now.”

How’s your sex life?

“Secret!”

Name three men that you think have bodies as nice as yours.

“Piolo Pascual. Derek Ramsay. Sam Milby.”
