Acting is in their genes

MANILA, Philippines - The two kids of Tirso Cruz III must be enjoying some celebrity treatment now that they’re both into showbiz. But one thing’s for sure, Bodie and Djanin will never take advantage of that built-in power created by their father who is valued as one of the most respected in the field.

Both of them have recently showcased their knack for acting in Sinner Or Saint for Djanin and Blusang Itim for Bodie. Their performances were praised without the need to mention their roots.

The siblings, both managed by GMA Artist Center, appeared together in last year’s Grazilda which was topbilled by Glaiza de Castro.

After his stint with a reality TV program and some projects from another network, Bodie jumped over to GMA 7 and started his journey with the station via a role in Zorro. He had also hosted a show with Paolo Paraiso on QTV-11 for two seasons.

Bodie also made his theater debut with Tanghalang Pilipino’s Sierra Lakes, a play tackling the complexities of love and desire. Here he played a significant character named Jusel Castro. The play ran Oct. 7 to 23.

Djanin’s break came after she was seen by a GMA executive when she appeared in Eat, Bulaga! with his dad.

Though not her dream to enter showbiz, she gave in to the request and attended some workshops under the care of GMAAC. In Grazilda, she played Anatalia, the wicked stepsister of Cinderella in the world of Fantasia.
