Goodbye, Mel & Joey!

MANILA, Philippines - As Funfare reported in a blind item a few issues ago, the long-running GMA show Mel & Joey will soon fade out.

Here’s the official announcement from the network:

GMA Entertainment Television would like to announce that Mel & Joey will air its last episode on Sunday, July 17.

After almost seven years on the air, the Network’s management has decided to give the program a rest.  During its run, Mel & Joey provided valuable information and excellent entertainment to all its viewers around the world. The producers of the program extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hosts, production staff and crew who have contributed to the show’s success in one way or another.

Lastly, GMA Network thanks the viewers for its staunch support all these years and dedicates the last episode to all of them. Mel & Joey’s farewell episode this Sunday marks its 360th with the theme - HAPPY ENDING. As the show comes to a full circle, the audience will be taken back to the best features that left a significant mark in the viewers’ hearts and minds.  New features will cap the show with its informative, heartwarming and truly memorable stories.

Up to the end, the program stays true to its promise - “sa Mel & Joey, KAYO (our loyal viewers) ang laging bida!”
