Robin Padilla has found the formula of success. And that is by being himself. With a blockbuster movie like Maging Sino Ka Man with Sharon Cuneta, the saga of Robin Padilla is in everybody’s mind.
When Deo Fajardo brought down Robin Padilla from Baguio, he was a brash young man who was obviously up for grabs for anyone who can give him a chance at the movies — and a good time. He looks at Deo as his benefactor but this did not stop Robin from doing his own thing in-between shooting schedules. He likes the company of women and since he was sharing the pad with Deo, it was Deo himself who was forced to move out so Robin would have his privacy with the girls who were just too willing to share his bed.
An ex of matinee idol Richard Gomez stayed with Robin for days on end. And that time, Deo was still staying in the same place. Robin would ask him to “split” whenever he had a girl with him. The next day, Deo would call asking if he could come home and Robin, still in the hot embrace of the girl of the moment, would tell him, “not yet.” Some people of authority would have to come for the girl to extricate her from Robin.
Then there’s Robin’s love for guns. Guns go off and there are accidents. But Robin, with the restlessness of youth somehow goes through the days with just minor trouble along the way. We are hoping he can handle the big ones later.
The girls find him daring and magnificent. Before he became infatuated with Sharon Cuneta the Megastar, he had his eyes on Viva’s young talent Vina Morales. Vina is now being talked about as being close to Sharon’s ex, Gabby Concepcion.
It is the talk in showbiz gatherings that Robin has his quota of production girls involved in his movies. These girls don’t mind being linked to Robin and they even do the talking. But now some people from Viva are worried that Sharon will find out. Sharon is jealously guarding Robin.
The lovely mother of Robin Padilla came to the Viva bash to celebrate the blockbuster Maging Sino Ka Man. The fair and lovely mom is said to be the only one who can keep him in line. Mrs. Padilla is also adept with guns. Robin’s mom and his sister were seen in a happy huddle with Sharon during the party. Sharon is getting to know Robin’s family and Robin is tickled pink watching this.
Robin reminds us of James Dean and Joseph Estrada; more of Joseph when it comes to women. The one thing going for Robin is that any write up about his private life and derring-do just adds to his image. The continuing saga of Robin Padilla unfolds before us in living colors.

His love of guns put Robin in jail for more than five years. It was also in jail where he became a Moslem and studied the Koran. Being in jail straightened his life. He came out a better person.
Now it is Robin Padilla season once again. After his hosting of Wowowee, he stayed in the news with one titillating item after another, one of them the Mariel Rodriguez issue. Karen Davila’s delightful interview in her morning show showed off the new Robin. He talks about the RH bill and the Muslim problem directly without hiding from generalities.
Peace talks? “I have been doing my share and I realized that only the Muslims can solve their own problems.”
But he does not believe they should be a different state. He admitted that he is divorced from Liezel and she is now married. He talks about fatherhood and his way of bonding with his kids.
Karen adeptly interviewed him about his love for women, laughing all the while and a little embarrassed with his candid answers. He cannot remember how many women were there, but he admits the mother of his children was his one big love.
Then he showed the one tattooed on his breast: Sharon. “I was caught by the police again. I called her and she came to help me out. Kaya naka-tattoo ang pangalan niya. “But when Karen asked for more, he demurred. “Hwag na. Iba ang panahon.”
