Sun Cellular revisits '80s music

MANILA, Philippines - Sun Cellular, in cooperation with Greenhills Shopping Center, successfully staged G-Strip Rewind: An ‘80s Concert & Car Show. Thousands of ‘80s music fans and vintage car aficionados trooped to the shopping venue to experience a once-in-a lifetime musical treat coupled with an exhibit of hard-to-find cars.

From afternoon until way past midnight, The Jerks, Luna, Color it Red, Nexxus, Truefaith, The Dawn and Wency Cornejo performed all-time favorites and classic hits from the ‘80s. The crowd sang and danced to the beat all night long.

Cornejo’s performance with True Faith’s Medwin Marfil added spice to the already hot-summer party as it was one rare chance where the two sang together. Of course, the New Wave and Punk Rock genre would never be complete without The Dawn singing its signature hits on top of the band’s versions of hits during that era.

Car lovers, meanwhile, were treated to a dazzling display of classic wheels featuring “mitsulancerph,” old-schooler auto club and classic auto club.
