Stars at Navotas founding affair
MANILA, Philippines - More than the spectacular fireworks display, what lit up the recent celebration of the 103rd celebration of the founding of Navotas City was the presence of showbiz stars who entertained the Navotenos at a two-hour musical show at the city’s Centennial park.
The celebration was led by Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco, aided by his brother John, shown with Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal...Billy Crawford...Ai-Ai de las Alas...and Rachelle Ann Go.
Other stars present were Kitkat, Gerald Santos, Blakdyak, Bugoy Drilon, Ogie Diaz, Sandwich Band and the EB Babes.
‘I have grand plans for Navotas,’ said Toby. ‘I strongly believe that we can achieve our full potential for growth and development if we continue to pursue our dream for a better tomorrow.’
Navotas was part of Malabon until in 1906 when it was declared a separate town. It became a city in 2007 through Toby’s initiative.
Today, Navotas is one of the 16 cities that make up the National Capital Region. It has 14 barangays with a population of 265,000.
