24 UAAP Hotties: Showbiz material

The hardcourt is one of the — if not the — richest sources of showbiz material.

Bobby Jaworksi. Freddie Webb. Francis Arnaiz. Joey Marquez. Atoy Co. Benjie Paras. Yoyong Martirez. Jimmy Santos. BJ Manalo. Alvin Patrimonio. Jerry Codiñera. Bong Alvarez. And, recently: Iago Raterta (UST) who has just competed in the modeling category of the 2007 World Championships Of the  Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood; Bruce Quebral (UP), the Pinoy Big Brother housemate who’s now the leading man of fellow housemate Wendy Valdez on the ABS-CBN soap Margarita; Century Tuna Superbod winner Ram Sagad (San Sebastian College); and 2007 Mr. World-Philippines Emmanuel Mago (Emilio Aguinaldo College) who competed in this year’s Mr. World contest in China.

Funfare’s “beauty experts” Felix Manuel, Joey Cezeare, Gery Yumping and Francis Calubaquib note that the list of showbiz recruits from the hardcourt is getting longer and, with the ongoing UAAP (University Athletics Association of the Philippines), more names are bound to be added to the roll of honor. The 70th UAAP is hosted by UST, with Rev. Fr. Ermito De Sagon, OP, former principal of the UST Pay High School (of which Felix is a graduate) as UAAP president.

“We were at the Araneta Coliseum during the first elimination round and we spotted several talent scouts and talent managers,” said Felix.
