"The life that a contravida leads in the movies and on television is truly a long and fruitful one," confesses Emilio Garcia. Indeed, Emilio has been playing villain roles for almost 10 years now. "I dont mind at all, I enjoy it," adds Emilio. In fact, Emilio will appear again on TV starting this Monday, July 4, as he portrays the evil Luis in the new series, Sugo.
"My approach to each villain role that comes my way varies because iba-iba naman ang mga karakter nila, even though they all have a mean bone in their bodies," explains Emilio.
Most recently, Emilio was seen as Harimon, Hari Ng Demonyo in the Judy Ann Santos fantasy series Krystala. Among his new projects include a meaty role in Dilim, the first full length film from indie director Topel Lee.
Dilim is an action-packed film featuring supernatural characters. "Of course, my role here is that of Brasko, an evil lord, the movie has a very dark theme, but full of action and computer generated images," explains Emilio. Dilim is the opening film of Cinema One originals, a festival of digital films. It will be shown on July 8 at SM Megamall Cinema 1.
With Sugo and Dilim around the corner, Emilio, who is obviously on a roll even when playing dark and evil characters, swears his on screen persona automatically and immediately rubs off off-screen.
