Feng Shui is Kris’ 1st horror-drama starrer

-
For its next offering, following the hit romance-drama-comedy Now That I Have You starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, Star Cinema is fielding a chilling movie revolving around the mystery of a cursed mirror.

Directed by Chito Roño from a screenplay by Roy Iglesias, Feng Shui traces the lives of a couple, played by Kris Aquino and Jay Manalo, whose fortune changes for the better after the wife picks up a mirror left in a bus by a stranger. Called Ba-gua by the Chinese, it’s a feng shui mirror, said to bring both good luck and bad luck to anyone who possesses it.

"I love this movie," said Kris who herself is a believer in feng shui. "I have done different kinds of drama and romance, and I welcome this change of pace. I can identify with Joy, the character I’m playing, because like her I’m a believer in feng shui."

Kris and Jay were together in Regal Films’ Mano Po 1 and 2 but they were seldom in a scene together. It’s their first time to play a couple whether on the big screen or the small screen.

"It’s my honor," said Jay who has risen above his "bold" image and developed into one of the country’s finest actors, with acting awards to boot. "This is a dream come true for me. I guess feng shui has helped answer my prayer to be cast opposite Kris in a movie."

In the movie, Kris and Jay as a couple move into a sparsely-populated village to start life anew. It’s when Kris picked up the mysterious mirror in the bus that untold fortunes come their way, only for them to discover that they have a stiff price to pay for it. The cursed mirror, hanging in the couple’s house, is blamed for mysterious deaths in the village, forcing Kris/Joy to choose between being overwhelmed with wealth and material things by the feng shui mirror or to resist its power.

Feng Shui
also stars Lotlot de Leon, Ilonah Jean and Jenny Miller.

It’s the kind of story that should be interesting to thousands of people who believe in feng shui, the Chinese belief in luck, good or bad, being influenced by the way you arrange things in your house and timing the date of special occasions with whatever the sun, moon and stars dictate.
