The Grammy nominees

SOUNDS FAMILIAR - Baby A. Gil -
The geezers like Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Aerosmith and even James Taylor remain omnipresent. There is still no way though that the 45th Grammy Awards will be of the geriatric sort because sharing the nominations with those veteran rock acts are some of the prettiest, sweetest sounding and talented females in the hit charts these days. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Norah Jones, Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch and even Kylie Minogue all got nominations.

Springsteen, Eminen, Ashanti, Norah Jones, Nelly and Avril Lavigne all got five nominations each. The trophies will be handed out at the Madison Square Garden in New York on Feb. 23. I do not know if we will get the show on local TV but the E Channel aired the Latin Grammys live so I am still hoping that like the Oscars, we will now be able to also watch the Grammys on real time.
