Troy joins Pops in US concert tour

Troy Montero joins Pops Fernandez in the US tour Shindig to be held in key cities of the United States in May.

"I am truly excited about joining the concert tour which I, missed last year. Since both concerts were done at the Ultra on Saturdays, I was not able to catch it. But now, I am so happy that I will not only be experiencing the talked-about concert but will be part of it as well, as a performer," Troy says.

This is not the first time he will be joining Pops in a concert. In 1999, Troy was Pop’s special guest in many of her provincial tours and they clicked with the audience. The chemistry the Philippine audience loved in the provincial concert tour will be seen in the US as well.

"I am doubly excited because this will be like a homecoming concert for me as well. Before I came to the Philippines, I was a part of a band which toured several gig joints in the US. But that was like the underground market which we have here in the Philippines. Now, I am part of the main act," says Troy.

Shindig will be staged in New York on May 5, Los Angeles, California on May 19 and in Reno on May 26. Troy’s co-host in the Saturday dance program Keep on Dancing Franco Laurel will also be joining the tour.

"As hosts, we click well on Keep on Dancing but this is the first time I will be sharing the stage with him in a concert. Franco is a very good performer and I think the audience in the US will love him as well," says Troy.

Troy is seen every Saturday on Keep on Dancing and in the new teleserye of ABS-CBN, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan as one of Claudine Barretto’s leading men.

"After Subic Bay, this is the biggest role I have been offered on television and I am so excited. This is a big break, and I am so flattered to be part of one of the biggest telenovelas to hit the country. Keep on watching because something exciting is going to happen to my character," states Troy.
