Angat Dam water level breaches 190 meters
MANILA, Philippines — The water level in Angat Dam in Bulacan has breached 190 meters, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Based on PAGASA’s dam information yesterday morning, the water level in Angat was at 191.1 meters, or up by 63 centimeters from the previous day’s 190.47 meters.
Angat supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila’s potable water needs, provides irrigation water for palay farms in Central Luzon and generates power for the Luzon grid.
Binga Dam opened its spillway gates to reduce water by 23 centimeters while Ambuklao Dam, which also opened its spillway, gained 11 cm of water.
La Mesa, San Roque and Magat Dams saw a slight decrease in water level at 6 cm, 27 cm and 13 cm, respectively.
