Alas players get go signal from PVL teams

MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League has always allowed its players to play for the national team.
It has stayed the same up to now.
In an expected response, the PVL mother clubs responded to the call and gave the green light for their players to suit up for the Alas Pilipinas team seeing action in this September’s Asian Games in Aichi, Japan.
Multiple sources confirmed to The STAR this recent development, and it was also evident by the PVL teams arriving in Ilagan City, Isabela for Wednesday's PVL on Tour opening where most of their Alas players did not come.
“Actually, they already practiced earlier (Monday),” a source told The STAR.
Creamline, which will battle Nxled, wasn’t with setter Jia de Guzman and libero Jen Nierva while Akari, which will tackle ZUS Coffee, did not bring along Justine Jazareno and Mars Alba.
Akari’s Fifi Sharma, who was in the Alas pool, however traveled to Ilagan.
There was no explanation as to what is the exact arrangement between their PVL squads and Alas, but the league has assured it will be supportive to the national team cause.
As it always did.
