MPBL All-Star Game ends in a draw

CEBU, Philippines — The North and South All-Stars fought to an 89-89 draw in the 2026 SportsPlus Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) All-Star Game Saturday night, September 19, at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.

With the game tied at 89-all at the end of the regulation period, no overtime was played as the contest was an exhibition game.

Dave Ildefonso of the Abra Solid North Weavers and Judel Fuentes of the Quezon Huskers were named co-MVPs after leading their respective teams.

Ildefonso finished with 15 points, two rebounds, and three assists, while Fuentes had 14 points and three assists.

Meanwhile, Jeff Manday of the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo won the 3-point shootout, while Joe Gomez de Liaño of the Manila Batang Quiapo reclaimed his Slam Dunk crown with a narrow 93-92 victory over Kymani Ladi in the final round.

Zamboanga Sikat’s Paeng Are caught part of the spotlight after topping the league’s one-on-one challenge.
