CEBU, Philippines — The Kinsman Engineering Services trounced Buildrite, 85-68, to emerge as champions of the Architects+Engineers Basketball Association’s 8th Corporate Cup over the weekend at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Downtown Campus Gym.
Ivan Mark Deo led Kinsman with 23 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals in an all-around performance that earned him the Finals MVP award.
Conference MVP Dave Abella also figured prominently with 21 points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and a block for Kinsman, which was in complete control after posting a 34-26 lead at halftime.
Kinsman then launched a decisive endgame assault to come up with a 17-point romp.
Jonathan Sotes chipped in with 14 points while Jett Latonio added 12 points, eight rebounds, and one assist for Kinsman.
John Buhawe topscored for Buildrite with 21 points, five rebounds, and one assist, Adrian Damole scored 19, while Dexsel Caadan produced a double-double of 17 points and 11 boards in a losing cause.
Buildrite though still has something to be proud for reaching the finals for the first time in six years. — (FREEMAN)
