CEBU, Philippines — They may fell short of their target but Dynacast Batch 2001 is still proud and happy of what they have accomplished in this year’s Silver Jubilee season of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA).

Spunky guard Jason Arquisola touched nearly triple-double figures as Batch 2001 broke down AutoLAB Batch 1999, 69-58, in their sudden-death duel to lift the third-place trophy in Division A of SHAABAA Season 25 at the Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City recently.

Arquisola, the man behind ARQ Sports that is actively involved in Cebu basketball and boxing scene, shot a spectacular 8-of-11 from the field en route to a 16-point show he spiked with 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

Arquisola also picked up three steals in an admirable all-around hardcourt brilliance that earned him the Player of the Game honors.

Not to be outdone, Madhoor Sandeep Naidu tallied 17 markers on top of four boards while John Phillip Remedio sank four 3-pointers of his 16 points for Batch 2001, which was in complete command of he match after sprinting to a hot 24-16 start.

Sustaining their momentum, Batch 2001 padded their lead to twin digits at halftime, 42-32, and then wisely protected it until the final buzzer to seal an emphatic 11-point triumph.

Josef Rey Reoma, Jun Paolo Dedamo and Michael Martin Marquez also also made their presence felt for Batch 2001 as they combined for 14 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

Elmer John Lapitan, Mark Ryan Sy, and Alistair Sanchez completed the list of those who hit the scoring chart for the winning side. — EBV
