Sylvia Sanchez says she and husband are getting better

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky Calderon - The Freeman

Award-winning actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde tested positive for Covid-19.

The two were taken to the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital in San Juan last March 24 because both had difficulty in breathing and suffered chills. They decided to have themselves tested for Covid-19 on the same day and underwent self-quarantine.

“A week later, we finally received the results and we came out positive for COVID-19," the actress said.

Sylvia urged those they interacted with before the community quarantine to have themselves tested as well, especially if they will also experience chills and difficulty in breathing.

“We would like to request those whom we saw prior to the community quarantine to monitor for symptoms of shortness of breath, cough, fever, LBM and sore throat,” said Sylvia.

When news broke out that the couple tested positive, they received lots of words of encouragement from their friends.

Sylvia said they feel well and are following their doctor’s orders dutifully.

“Art and I are getting better each day. Although this is slower than our usual recovery, we know that with prayers and strict compliance with our doctor’s orders, we will get there. Until then, we will keep you updated on how this progresses.”

She also advises everyone to stay at home to prevent the spread of the disease.

The lockdown has enabled us to watch some local and Hollywood movies on Netflix. Some of them were "London Has Fallen," "Olympus Has Fallen," "Dead Kids" and "That Thing Called Tadhana" which we liked very much when we saw it years ago at the Cinema One Originals Festival.

We finally got to watch "Dead Kids" and we were impressed with the performance of its young cast namely Khalil Ramos, Vance Larena, Kelvin Miranda, Markus Patterson, and Sue Ramirez. This film by Mikhael Red is certainly one of the best films of 2019.

The cast deserved the heap of praises bestowed on them by those who’ve seen the film. We’d love to see Kahlil, Vance, Kelvin, Marcus and Sue in another Mikhael Red film in the future.

While we are enjoying having our fill of movies that we missed in cinemas, we are also hoping that the lockdown will soon be over so that the networks can go back to regular programming.

We are the sure the fans of "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" are eager to find out what surprises are in store for them when the series airs again. Will Lili (Lorna Tolentino) succeed in her devious plan of taking hold of the country while President Hidalgo is sick?

Will Lolo Delfin (Jaime Fabregas) be cleared of the fabricated case against him?

"FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" has definitely made Pinoy viewing different when it started airing four years ago.

Another interesting series on primetime is the remake of "Descendants of the Sun" on GMA and "A Soldier’s Heart on ABS-CBN.

We hope the lockdown ends soon and that Congress also starts hearing the renewal of ABS-CBN's franchise.
