CEBU, Philippines — The much anticipated Phoenix Pulse Technology Amateur Golf Tournament or the Phoenix Cup will tee off on June 28 at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

Participants of the three-in-one event can join not only the individual category but also the two-man and five-man team competitions.

Entry fee is pegged at P7,500 which already entitles the participant to an entry in all competitions as long as he or she registers for such upon signing up.

Those who are interested to join can enlist at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club registration counter, Phoenix Maguikay station, and Phoenix Banilad station.

The tournament is open only to players aged 26 years old and above.

All participants will get a Rudy Project golf shirt and cap, and a special limited edition Phoenix Secrid RFID twin wallet from Europe. They are also entitled to one free practice round that they can avail on or before June 28 but only on weekdays.

There will be two shotgun tee offs for the event, 6 am and 12nn.

Prizes at stake are for the overall gross and net individual champions, the gross champions, and new champions of the four handicap categories as well as the first and second runner-up of each class. There will also be prizes for the top three pairs in the two-man team event and the top three squads in the five-man team competition.

All the winners will be receiving Royal Selangor pewter plates from Malaysia and Phoenix Petroleum fuel/lubricants  certificates. On top of these prizes, champions will also be receiving limited editon Phoenix golf bags.

There will be prizes at stake for an ace on all par-3 holes of the Black Knight (Gary Player)-designed layout.

To make it more interesting, there will be five holes on each green of the par-3 holes.

The prizes at stake, which will be designated on a particular hole, are P1 million in cash, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, two Tata Manza Petrol cars, and P100,000 worth of Phoenix Petroleum fuels and lubricants.

In case more than one player will win a particular prize, this will be equally shared. The awards ceremony will be held at the Alta Vista ballroom at 6 pm.

Proceeds of the tournament will be used to fund Phoenix Philippines Foundation's projects for education, environment, health and safety, and outreach.
