Enoverso crowned Bowler of the Year
CEBU, Philippines — Dory Enoverso opened and closed his campaign this year with a bang after emerging as the BTA-Prima Bowler of the Year for 2018 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex over the weekend in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
The 75-year-old Enoverso started the year right after grabbing the senior division title of BTA Sinulog Open.
However, Enoverso came up short of a title in all of the monthly finals.
But just when he seemed to have run out of luck, Enoveso booked a finals ticket, thanks to the last two monthly winners Ed Aninon and Clifford Tan who already got slots in the battle of the best in the earlier qualifying.
The next ranked bowler in the last monthly finals, Vivian Padawan, is also qualified already being the best player of September, paving the way tot Clyde Tan and Enoveso to clinch the remaining finals tickets.
Enoveso made the most out of the opportunity, posting 1,616 pinfalls in the eight-game final series to claim the coveted crown.
Padawan came out second overall with 1,602 pins followed by Arthur Tapaya with 1,518 pinfalls.
Completine the top 12 list were Bede Ilano (1,515), Clyde Tan (1,506), Clifford Tan (1,495), Aui Padawan (1,461), Wilbert Yu(1,441,), Juan Arceo (1,403), Egay Alquiza( 1,376), Ed Aninon(1,331) and Christopher Garcia (1,181). (FREEMAN)
