Cebu Province Anniversary football draws 24 teams
CEBU, Philippines — A total of 24 teams coming from different parts of the Visayas will compete in the 449th Cebu Province Founding Anniversary Invitational Football Cup which will kick off tomorrow at the Badian National High School football field in Badian, southern town of Cebu.
Organized by the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission, the 7-aside football tournament features the men's and women's open and boys' under-18 class.
Competing in the men’s class are CAFC A, Free Diver, Magone FC and Real Galaxy A in Group A; Barili A, Josenian United, UP-FASO and QCU in Group B; CAFC B, Real Carcaranon FC, Dalaguete and Dumaguete in Group C, while Group D is composed of Barili B, CTU, Alegria and Real Galaxy B.
Meanwhile, Real Carcaranon FC, Barili FC and USJ-R Balamban will be vying for the ladies open tiara.
Real Carcaranon, Barili FC, USJ-R Balamban and Badian FC will be battling in the boy’s under-18 division.
The tournament follows a single round robin elimination format to determine the team standing. The top two teams in each bracket will advance to the semifinals.
Trophies, medals, freebies and overnight accommodations await the winners in each division.
