CEBU, Philippines — Frederick Elombi dropped 32 points as the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters pounded the Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 77-63, to firm up their grip of the solo collegiate division lead with a 4-0 slate in the 2018 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Partner's Cup at the Cebu Coliseum yesterday.

Daryl Menina was the only other double digit scorer with 10 points for the Webmasters, who used a searing rally bridging the third and fourth quarters to vanquish the Warriors and stay unbeaten in four starts.

Trailing by a hairline at halftime, 24-25, the Webmasters greeted the third period with a 8-0 bang to snatch the lead, 32-25, for good.

The closest the Warriors could come was at 36-38 as the Webmasters staged a blistering 14-3 run establish a 52-39 edge with just two minutes gone by in the fourth.

The Warriors came within striking range for one last time at 63-70 but time was not on their side with only a minute left to play. The Webmasters then closed the match with seven straight points for the 14-point romp.

Magic Marata and Roosevelt Jelianggao finished with 22 combined points for the Warriors, who fell to 2-3.

Earlier,Khadsin Tagalog churned out 17 points, Tomtom Octaviano scored 12 and Allan Ruiz had 11 markers as the Mandaue Hotel-USC Baby Warriors handed the Hotel Fortuna-UC Junior Webmasters their first loss, 58-56. – EBV (FREEMAN)
