Largo, Sorongon top 5th Metro footrace
CEBU, Philippines — Michael Largo and Ruffa Sorongon emerged as the fastest runners in the 5th Metro Summer Fun Run yesterday at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
Largo ruled the men's 21K category with a time of one hour, 17 minutes and 31 seconds.
Joseph Emia trailed Largo with a 1:21:09 clocking while Azlan Pagay timed one hour, 27 minutes and 51 seconds, good for a third-place finish.
Robei Catat (1:38:16) and Jimmy Yu (1:45:43) completed the top five cast.
In the distaff side, Sorongon snared the crown after crossing the finish line with the best time of one hour, 37 minutes and 38 seconds. Angel Estellore posted 1:44:01 to finish second followed by Lovely Andrin with 1:45:24. The next two spots were occupied by Jelma Monsanto (1:50:24) and Filrose Mejorada (2:00:14).
On the other hand, the top three winners in the 10K action were Ian Refuela (32:54), James Mebei (36:32) and Ariel Saballa (37:05) in the men's class and Cherry Andrin (49:25), Mary Joy Castor (51:53) and Azalea de Jesus (55:21) in the women's bracket.
The top 3 in the 5K battle were Harold Kim Guiao (17:34), Jovan Binsig (17:35), and Marl Adrian Baguio (18:25) in the men's division and Princess Jive Borneo (23:49), Leah Tampus (24:02), and Leonora Villamor (25:08) in the women's category.
