Mururi, Sorongon top first Vertical footrace

CEBU, Philippines — Kenyan Joseph Mururi and Ruffa Sorongon topped their respective divisions in the first Horizon 101: Vertical Run 2018 yesterday morning at the Tower 1 of Horizons 101 in General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.

Mururi ruled the men's full 55 challenge with a time of 12 minutes and 19 seconds followed by Lawrence Furo with 12:45. Mururi's compatriot Elliud Kering claimed the third spot with 12:46.

In the distaff side, Sorongon snared the title with her time of 16 minutes and 30 seconds. Lovely Fe Andrin settled for second with 17:01 as Glee Marie Largo wound up third with a time of 18:04.

The tandem of Ian Refuela and Michael Largo won the the relay by pair category in 11 minutes and 22 seconds followed by the duo of Jose Baguio and Jayson Lopido (11:48) and Ariel Saballa and Azlan Pagay (12:07) who occupied the next two spots.

In the men’s Fun Climb 25 event, Sherwin Manasil Moh lorded it over with a  time of nine minutes. He bested Earl Peonila (09:01) and Paul James Zafico (09:36) who settled for second and third, respectively.

Cherry Andrin shone in the women’s division with a time of 10 minutes and 59 seconds. Kay Razel Cundangan (12:30) and Jade Abellana (12:41) occupied the next two spots.
