SHS-Ateneo rules CESAFI women's futsal
CEBU, Philippines — The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles claimed the inaugural title of Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) women's futsal tournament the other day at the University of San Carlos gym.
SHS-Ateneo lady booters blanked the home team USC, 8-0, to win the championship of the secondary and collegiate women-combined tournament.
SHS-AdC advanced to the finals after beating its sister team in the semis, 7-1, while USC disposed St.Theresa's College, 3-2.
During the finals, it was the Magis Eagles who proved to be more aggresive as they unleashed a barrage of attacks en route to a dominating victory.
Itsuko Marie Bacatan and Trisha Marie Yu led SHS-Ateneo's charge with two goals each. Arantxa Mari Trebol, Shadinne Mae Pepito, Martienne Jenn Cabatingan and Cassandra Daphne Gillamac also contributed one goal apiece.
