Bosconians dominate 15th Thirsty bootfest
CEBU, Philippines — The Bosconians emerged as the biggest winners with five championship trophies spotlighted by the men's open crown in the highly successful 15th Thirsty Football Cup over the weekend at the Cebu City Sports Center.
In what came to be the proverbial icing on their victory cake, the Don Bosco Alumni Lost Boys stunned the highly favored BRO Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 4-3, to clinch the premiere men's open title.

In the distaff side, the University of San Agustin (USA)-Iloilo reigned supreme after edging Chicos United-A, 1-0.
Earlier, Don Bosco swept four titles through the Under 7, boys 19, men’s 38-above and mixed open divisions.
Despite losing to DBTC in the Under 7, the CNN Dolphins still have something to be happy about after they bested Tamasak FC, 3-0, to lord it over the Under 9 age group.
Tamasak FC though ruled in boys Under 13 category after prevailing over Cagayan de Oro City.
The CDO booters did not go home empty-handed as they topped the boys Under 15 class at the expense of CST-R, 3-2.
Three other out-of-town squads also made their visit to the Queen City of the South worthwhile.
San Juan FC of Capiz went away with the girls 17 tiara with 13 points on a league-type format, but missed a golden double after bowing to Iligan in the girls 19 final, 1-3.
The Ilongo Young Booters-B, on the other hand, romped off with the champion's trophy in the boys Under 17 after beating Bright Academy, 1-0. (FREEMAN)
